The PF4130 bottom bracket is Press Fit into 41mm diameter shells that are 86.5mm wide and mate most cranks with a 30mm spindle to that standard. If you have a BB86 frame and want to install a 386EVO crank or Rotor 30mm crank, this is the kit you need. CeramicSpeed bearings are installed in cups. The Standard Bearing has ceramic CeramicSpeed balls and hardened-steel races. The Coated Bearing has the same balls running on hardened-steel races with a 3-micron-thick metallic coating making the races harder and smoother, increasing service life and reducing friction. Enjoying the benefit of a massive, strong, and light 30mm crank spindle in your BB86 frame is possible with this kit. Press in the cups, set up the wave washer, add spacers if necessary, and torque down. CeramicSpeed's bottom bracket is also stiff and light, but its greatest benefits come in the form of drag reduction. Standard Bearings with stock grease typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's about a 75% drag reduction compared to conventional bottom brackets. The EVO386 standard is designed for oversized spindles. CeramicSpeed's kit for Shimano allows you to install Shimano or FSA cranks with 24mm spindles. The cups come with CeramicSpeed Bearings installed. Both CeramicSpeed Standard and Coated Bearings are available. Both utilize super smooth CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The latter has an additional metallic coating on the races to further smooth and harden the steel, further increasing life and lowering drag. The design of overlapping cups extending through the shell for EVO386 reduce the likelihood of creaking and increase the reliability of the system. The CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings feature an average drag reduction of 75% compared to stock bottom brackets. That translates into frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set, which is the result of great design, hardened-steel races, and ceramic balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings are a step up as they reduce drag by 50% compared to our Standard Bearings and an improvement in bearing life by 60%. Pressfit 30 will feature an integrated seal, pre-assembled into the cups, to further prolong bearing life. The key difference with Pressfit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Frames will need a 46mm inner-diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system. BSA is equivalent to English threading. English threading on MTBs mean a 73mm-wide, 34mm-inside-diameter shell with reverse threading on the drive side. It's the most common threaded standard employed today. This kit works with 24mm diameter cranks, such as Shimano, FSA, Rotor, and others. Choose between two bearing types for the cups. Standard Bearings have low drag thanks to hardened-steel races and our Ceramic balls. Coated Bearings have those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag. For MTBs, English threading, thanks to history, is pretty much the one threaded standard. It works great. 24mm spindles easily fit through the shell, allow for large bearings to be employed in the outside cups. What's more, they rarely creak and seal up well. Lots of things slow bikes down; bearings shouldn't be among them. CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. The bearings last at least 3x longer than other bearings. Coated bearings have even less drag. These bearings come packed with LongLife Grease, best for muddy conditions. For less drag when riding in cleaner environs, you can coat the bearings with either All Round Grease or lowest drag TT and Track Grease, which is designed for clean conditions.
